Brian and Tanya Poag are the owners of Jake's Western Grill. Brian moved to Lynden in 1998 from Nashville, Tennessee. Tanya was born and raised in Whatcom County. They have three daughters and one son ranging in age from 3 -10.
  Over the past 18 years, Brian has worked in many corporate type restaurants. Jake's is his third different concept that he has launched. His first restaurant was named Whatcom County Business Pulse "start-up business of the year" in 2002. Since then, he and his wife Tanya started a smaller scale restaurant in downtown Lynden.  They opened Jake's Western Grill in January 2008 in the Lynden Towne Plaza. You will definitely see Brian's southern influence on display with items such as sweet potato fries, fried green tomatoes, fresh baked cornbread, and his famous baby back ribs. Both Brian and Tanya feel that exceeding their guests expectations is the key to being successful in the restaurant industry. They believe that serving high quality products, such as Certified Angus Beef, makes their guests feel appreciated. The service staff at Jake's goes the "extra mile" to ensure excellent service for every guest. Come on in to see for yourself. We think you'll be glad you did.
  Why the name "Jake's"? They named it after their son.
